BIOGRAPHY
Where does the Sunny Corner Shop comes from? Well, it’s not easy to explain the story of something that comes up from nothing…!
The “Sunny” originates from the meeting of the deviant minds of the keyboardist Sergio Bertani (Profusion and some collaborations with Onyrion) and the guitarist Gilberto Nuvolari (Canoni Inversi, ex-Onyrion) and derives its vital nourishment from their common love towards everything that is heavy and unlistenable for any other living being.
Sunny Corner Shop becomes reality in summer 2003 in Sergio’s untidy bedroom, seat of Profusion of Art productions. A demo cd called “Solid State Hate” (from one of Gilberto’s sick ideas) is immediately recorded with vocals and programming by Sergio and really heavy guitars played by Gilberto (who learned and recorded all the guitar tracks in less than 2 hours!).
The duo alternates between industrial-thrash songs and instrumental covers of well known TV programmes’ themes rearranged into a weird and really heavy style.
Sergio Bertani, 18 years old, comes from a family full of musicians (a pianist sister, a cellist brother-in-law and a violist uncle) and draws his inspiration from a lot of different music genres, as jazz, classical music and every kind of metal. He also has a great passion for computers, digital graphics, music data processing, cinema, books and cycling. In the last two years he recorded two demos under the monicker of Profusion, a progressive solo project.
Gilberto Nuvolari, 26 years old, is maybe the most responsible for the “bad road” undertaken by Sergio, being his mentor in a lot of stuff and driving him around the world with his historic green Fiat Panda. As him Gilberto loves music (especially metal), graphics, cinema, books (he adores Tolkien) and art. He’s an architect and plays the guitar in the prog rock band Canoni Inversi, born from the ashes of the Onyrion.
Crue, our 19-years-old drummer, joined SCS's line-up on summer 2004. He played with many different bands coming from many different musical backgrounds (from punk to prog to traditional folk). Apart from music he's interested in italian cooking, polirythms and reading.
